The support for the BoltDB Shipper storage has been deprecated with the release of Loki 3.0 in April 2024 (see https://github.com/grafana/loki/releases/tag/v3.0.0) ⚠️ **This PR removes the BoltDB Shipper (`boltdb-shipper`) storage backend completely.** The classic Loki architecture will support TSDB shipper (chunks + tsdb on object storage) only. With the removal of deprecated storage backends, the Loki jsonnet library is also cleaned up to reflect these changes. Affected configuration flags are: - `$._config.using_shipper_store` - any usages defaulted to `true` - `$._config.using_boltdb_shipper` - any usages defaulted to `false` - `$._config.using_tsdb_shipper` - any usages defaulted to `true` This change may update both command line arguments and the Loki config. If you've been using or overriding one of the three aforementioned configuration options, please remove them and replace them with the new defaults.	2 months ago

This PR re-organizes the CONTRIBUTING guidelines and related content that is located in the docs/ folder and therefore shows on the website. The CONTRIBUTING.md file becomes more structured and updated to current Go versions etc. It now serves as the primary source of information and the website docs link to them.
