Christian Haudum	ebef2fe1cd	Remove backup index writer from TSDB configuration (#10534 ) The setting `use_boltdb_shipper_as_backup` (`-tsdb.shipper.use-boltdb-shipper-as-backup`) was a remnant from the development of the TSDB storage. It was used to allow writing to both TSDB and BoltDB when TSDB was still highly experimental. Since TSDB is now stable and the recommended index type, the setting has become irrelevant and therefore was removed. The previous default value `false` is applied. Danny Kopping	2c84959901	Distributor: add ingester append timeouts error (#10456 ) What this PR does / why we need it: Failing to send samples to ingesters because the request exceeded its timeout is a very clear signal that ingesters are unable to keep up with demand. In an incident today we saw that ingesters' push latencies were increased sharply by an expensive regex query which was starving other goroutines of time on CPU. This new alert `loki_distributor_ingester_append_timeouts_total` will give us a high-signal metric which we can use for alerting.	2 years ago

Given that WAL is enabled by default, suggest users to unset `ingester.max-transfer-retries` in case they explicitly configured it.
