isspace() can be locale-sensitive depending on the platform, causing
hstore to consider as whitespaces characters it should not see as such.
For example, U+0105, being decoded as 0xC4 0x85 in UTF-8, would be
discarded from the input given.
This problem is similar to 9ae2661, though it was missed that hstore
can also manipulate non-ASCII inputs, so replace the existing isspace()
calls with scanner_isspace().
This problem exists for a long time, so backpatch all the way down.

Since PG 8.2, @ and ~ have been deprecated aliases for the containment
operators @> and <@. It seems like enough time has passed to actually
remove them, so do so.
This completes the project begun in commit 2f70fdb06. Note that in
the core types, the relation to the preferred operator names was
reversed from what it is in these contrib modules. The confusion
that induced was a large part of the reason for deprecation.

Invent new RawParseModes that allow the core grammar to handle
pl/pgsql expressions and assignments directly, and thereby get rid
of a lot of hackery in pl/pgsql's parser. This moves a good deal
of knowledge about pl/pgsql into the core code: notably, we have to
invent a CoercionContext that matches pl/pgsql's (rather dubious)
historical behavior for assignment coercions. That's getting away
from the original idea of pl/pgsql as an arm's-length extension of
the core, but really we crossed that bridge a long time ago.
The main advantage of doing this is that we can now use the core
parser to generate FieldStore and/or SubscriptingRef nodes to handle
assignments to pl/pgsql variables that are records or arrays. That
fixes a number of cases that had never been implemented in pl/pgsql
assignment, such as nested records and array slicing, and it allows
pl/pgsql assignment to support the datatype-specific subscripting
behaviors introduced in commit c7aba7c14.
There are cosmetic benefits too: when a syntax error occurs in a
pl/pgsql expression, the error report no longer includes the confusing
"SELECT" keyword that used to get prefixed to the expression text.

This is basically a finger exercise to prove that it's possible for
an extension module to add subscripting ability. Subscripted fetch
from an hstore is not different from the existing "hstore -> text"
operator. Subscripted update does seem to be a little easier to
use than the traditional update method using hstore concatenation,
but it's not a fundamentally new ability.
However, there may be some value in the code as sample code, since
it shows what's basically the minimum-complexity way to implement
subscripting when one needn't consider nested container objects.

Hostile objects located within the installation-time search_path could
capture references in an extension's installation or upgrade script.
If the extension is being installed with superuser privileges, this
opens the door to privilege escalation. While such hazards have existed
all along, their urgency increases with the v13 "trusted extensions"
feature, because that lets a non-superuser control the installation path
for a superuser-privileged script. Therefore, make a number of changes
to make such situations more secure:
* Tweak the construction of the installation-time search_path to ensure
that references to objects in pg_catalog can't be subverted; and
explicitly add pg_temp to the end of the path to prevent attacks using
temporary objects.
* Disable check_function_bodies within installation/upgrade scripts,
so that any security gaps in SQL-language or PL-language function bodies
cannot create a risk of unwanted installation-time code execution.
* Adjust lookup of type input/receive functions and join estimator
functions to complain if there are multiple candidate functions. This
prevents capture of references to functions whose signature is not the
first one checked; and it's arguably more user-friendly anyway.
* Modify various contrib upgrade scripts to ensure that catalog
modification queries are executed with secure search paths. (These
are in-place modifications with no extension version changes, since
it is the update process itself that is at issue, not the end result.)
Extensions that depend on other extensions cannot be made fully secure
by these methods alone; therefore, revert the "trusted" marking that
commit eb67623c9 applied to earthdistance and hstore_plperl, pending
some better solution to that set of issues.
Also add documentation around these issues, to help extension authors
write secure installation scripts.

Security: CVE-2020-14350
Since %c only passes a C "char" to printf, it's incapable of dealing
with multibyte characters. Passing just the first byte of such a
character leads to an output string that is visibly not correctly
encoded, resulting in undesirable behavior such as encoding conversion
failures while sending error messages to clients.
We've lived with this issue for a long time because it was inconvenient
to avoid in a portable fashion. However, now that we always use our own
snprintf code, it's reasonable to use the %.*s format to print just one
possibly-multibyte character in a string. (We previously avoided that
obvious-looking answer in order to work around glibc's bug #6530, cf
commits 54cd4f045 and ed437e2b2.)
Hence, run around and fix a bunch of places that used %c to report
a character found in a user-supplied string. For simplicity, I did
not touch places that were emitting non-user-facing debug messages,
or reporting catalog data that should always be ASCII. (It's also
unclear how useful this approach could be in frontend code, where
it's less certain that we know what encoding we're dealing with.)
In passing, improve a couple of poorly-written error messages in
pageinspect/heapfuncs.c.
This is a longstanding issue, but I'm hesitant to back-patch because
of the impact on translatable message strings. In any case this fix
would not work reliably before v12.

Quite a few matching operators such as JSONB's @> used "contsel" and
"contjoinsel" as their selectivity estimators. That was a bad idea,
because (a) contsel is only a stub, yielding a fixed default estimate,
and (b) that default is 0.001, meaning we estimate these operators as
five times more selective than equality, which is surely pretty silly.
There's a good model for improving this in ltree's ltreeparentsel():
for any "var OP constant" query, we can try applying the operator
to all of the column's MCV and histogram values, taking the latter
as being a random sample of the non-MCV values. That code is
actually 100% generic, except for the question of exactly what
default selectivity ought to be plugged in when we don't have stats.
Hence, migrate the guts of ltreeparentsel() into the core code, provide
wrappers "matchingsel" and "matchingjoinsel" with a more-appropriate
default estimate, and use those for the non-geometric operators that
formerly used contsel (mostly JSONB containment operators and tsquery
matching).
Also apply this code to some match-like operators in hstore, ltree, and
pg_trgm, including the former users of ltreeparentsel as well as ones
that improperly used contsel. Since commit 911e70207 just created new
versions of those extensions that we haven't released yet, we can sneak
this change into those new versions instead of having to create an
additional generation of update scripts.

PostgreSQL provides set of template index access methods, where opclasses have
much freedom in the semantics of indexing. These index AMs are GiST, GIN,
SP-GiST and BRIN. There opclasses define representation of keys, operations on
them and supported search strategies. So, it's natural that opclasses may be
faced some tradeoffs, which require user-side decision. This commit implements
opclass parameters allowing users to set some values, which tell opclass how to
index the particular dataset.
This commit doesn't introduce new storage in system catalog. Instead it uses
pg_attribute.attoptions, which is used for table column storage options but
unused for index attributes.
In order to evade changing signature of each opclass support function, we
implement unified way to pass options to opclass support functions. Options
are set to fn_expr as the constant bytea expression. It's possible due to the
fact that opclass support functions are executed outside of expressions, so
fn_expr is unused for them.
This commit comes with some examples of opclass options usage. We parametrize
signature length in GiST. That applies to multiple opclasses: tsvector_ops,
gist__intbig_ops, gist_ltree_ops, gist__ltree_ops, gist_trgm_ops and
gist_hstore_ops. Also we parametrize maximum number of integer ranges for
gist__int_ops. However, the main future usage of this feature is expected
to be json, where users would be able to specify which way to index particular
json parts.

Our usual practice for "poor man's enum" catalog columns is to define
macros for the possible values and use those, not literal constants,
in C code. But for some reason lost in the mists of time, this was
never done for typalign/attalign or typstorage/attstorage. It's never
too late to make it better though, so let's do that.
The reason I got interested in this right now is the need to duplicate
some uses of the TYPSTORAGE constants in an upcoming ALTER TYPE patch.
But in general, this sort of change aids greppability and readability,
so it's a good idea even without any specific motivation.
I may have missed a few places that could be converted, and it's even
more likely that pending patches will re-introduce some hard-coded
references. But that's not fatal --- there's no expectation that
we'd actually change any of these values. We can clean up stragglers
over time.

becomes src/include/common/hashfn.h. Perhaps an argument can be
made for keeping the hashutils.h name, but it seemed more

Andres Freund pointed out that allowing non-superusers to run
"CREATE EXTENSION ... FROM unpackaged" has security risks, since
the unpackaged-to-1.0 scripts don't try to verify that the existing
objects they're modifying are what they expect. Just attaching such
objects to an extension doesn't seem too dangerous, but some of them
do more than that.
We could have resolved this, perhaps, by still requiring superuser
privilege to use the FROM option. However, it's fair to ask just what
we're accomplishing by continuing to lug the unpackaged-to-1.0 scripts
forward. None of them have received any real testing since 9.1 days,
so they may not even work anymore (even assuming that one could still
load the previous "loose" object definitions into a v13 database).
And an installation that's trying to go from pre-9.1 to v13 or later
in one jump is going to have worse compatibility problems than whether
there's a trivial way to convert their contrib modules into extension
style.
Hence, let's just drop both those scripts and the core-code support
for "CREATE EXTENSION ... FROM".

We used to strategically place newlines after some function call left
parentheses to make pgindent move the argument list a few chars to the
left, so that the whole line would fit under 80 chars. However,
pgindent no longer does that, so the newlines just made the code
vertically longer for no reason. Remove those newlines, and reflow some
of those lines for some extra naturality.

When maintaining or merging patches, one of the most common sources
for conflicts are the list of objects in makefiles. Especially when
the split across lines has been changed on both sides, which is
somewhat common due to attempting to stay below 80 columns, those
conflicts are unnecessarily laborious to resolve.
By splitting, and alphabetically sorting, OBJS style lines into one
object per line, conflicts should be less frequent, and easier to
resolve when they still occur.

The basic rule we follow here is to always first include 'postgres.h' or
'postgres_fe.h' whichever is applicable, then system header includes and
then Postgres header includes. In this, we also follow that all the
Postgres header includes are in order based on their ASCII value. We
generally follow these rules, but the code has deviated in many places.
This commit makes it consistent just for contrib modules. The later
commits will enforce similar rules in other parts of code.

access/hash is the place for the hash index AM, not really appropriate
for generic facilities, which is what hash_any is; having things the old
way meant that anything using hash_any had to include the AM's include
file, pointlessly polluting its namespace with unrelated, unnecessary
cruft.
Also move the HTEqual strategy number to access/stratnum.h from
access/hash.h.
To avoid breaking third-party extension code, add an #include
"utils/hashutils.h" to access/hash.h. (An easily removed line by
committers who enjoy their asbestos suits to protect them from angry
extension authors.)

Before this change FunctionCallInfoData, the struct arguments etc for
V1 function calls are stored in, always had space for
FUNC_MAX_ARGS/100 arguments, storing datums and their nullness in two
arrays. For nearly every function call 100 arguments is far more than
needed, therefore wasting memory. Arg and argnull being two separate
arrays also guarantees that to access a single argument, two
cachelines have to be touched.
Change the layout so there's a single variable-length array with pairs
of value / isnull. That drastically reduces memory consumption for
most function calls (on x86-64 a two argument function now uses
64bytes, previously 936 bytes), and makes it very likely that argument
value and its nullness are on the same cacheline.
Arguments are stored in a new NullableDatum struct, which, due to
padding, needs more memory per argument than before. But as usually
far fewer arguments are stored, and individual arguments are cheaper
to access, that's still a clear win. It's likely that there's other
places where conversion to NullableDatum arrays would make sense,
e.g. TupleTableSlots, but that's for another commit.
Because the function call information is now variable-length
allocations have to take the number of arguments into account. For
heap allocations that can be done with SizeForFunctionCallInfoData(),
for on-stack allocations there's a new LOCAL_FCINFO(name, nargs) macro
that helps to allocate an appropriately sized and aligned variable.
Some places with stack allocation function call information don't know
the number of arguments at compile time, and currently variably sized
stack allocations aren't allowed in postgres. Therefore allow for
FUNC_MAX_ARGS space in these cases. They're not that common, so for
now that seems acceptable.
Because of the need to allocate FunctionCallInfo of the appropriate
size, older extensions may need to update their code. To avoid subtle
breakages, the FunctionCallInfoData struct has been renamed to
FunctionCallInfoBaseData. Most code only references FunctionCallInfo,
so that shouldn't cause much collateral damage.
This change is also a prerequisite for more efficient expression JIT
compilation (by allocating the function call information on the stack,
allowing LLVM to optimize it away); previously the size of the call
information caused problems inside LLVM's optimizer.

Hstore data generated on pg 8.4 and pg_upgraded to current versions
remains in its original on-disk format unless modified. The same goes
for values generated by the addon hstore-new module on pre-9.0
versions. (The hstoreUpgrade function converts old values on the fly
when read in, but the on-disk value is not modified by this.)
Since old-format empty hstores (and hstore-new hstores) have
representations compatible with the new format, hstoreUpgrade thought
it could get away without modifying such values; but this breaks
hstore_hash (and the new hstore_hash_extended) which assumes
bit-perfect matching between semantically identical hstore values.
Only one bit actually differs (the "new version" flag in the count
field) but that of course is enough to break the hash.
Fix by making hstoreUpgrade unconditionally convert all old values to
new format.
Backpatch all the way, even though this changes a hash value in some
cases, because in those cases the hash value is already failing - for
example, a hash join between old- and new-format empty hstores will be
failing to match, or a hash index on an hstore column containing an
old-format empty value will be failing to find the value since it will
be searching for a hash derived from a new-format datum. (There are no
known field reports of this happening, probably because hashing of
hstores has only been useful in limited circumstances and there
probably isn't much upgraded data being used this way.)

Failure to use DatumGetFoo/FooGetDatum macros correctly, or at all,
causes some warnings about sign conversion. This is just cosmetic
at the moment but in principle it's a type violation, so clean up
the instances I could find.
autoprewarm.c and sharedfileset.c contained code that unportably
assumed that pid_t is the same size as int. We've variously dealt
with this by casting pid_t to int or to unsigned long for printing
purposes; I went with the latter.
Fix uninitialized-variable warning in RestoreGUCState. This is
a live bug in some sense, but of no great significance given that
nobody is very likely to care what "line number" is associated with
a GUC that hasn't got a source file recorded.
hstoreUniquePairs() often called memcpy with equal source and destination
pointers. Although this is almost surely harmless in practice, it's
undefined according to the letter of the C standard. Some versions of
valgrind will complain about it, and some versions of libc as well
(cf. commit ad520ec4a). Tweak the code to avoid doing that.

of the hazard of libc assertions.

The lower case spellings are C and C++ standard and are used in most
parts of the PostgreSQL sources. The upper case spellings are only used
in some files/modules. So standardize on the standard spellings.
The APIs for ICU, Perl, and Windows define their own TRUE and FALSE, so
those are left as is when using those APIs.
In code comments, we use the lower-case spelling for the C concepts and
keep the upper-case spelling for the SQL concepts.

This is the last major omission in our domains feature: you can now
make a domain over anything that's not a pseudotype.
The major complication from an implementation standpoint is that places
that might be creating tuples of a domain type now need to be prepared
to apply domain_check(). It seems better that unprepared code fail
with an error like "<type> is not composite" than that it silently fail
to apply domain constraints. Therefore, relevant infrastructure like
get_func_result_type() and lookup_rowtype_tupdesc() has been adjusted
to treat domain-over-composite as a distinct case that unprepared code
won't recognize, rather than just transparently treating it the same
as plain composite. This isn't a 100% solution to the possibility of
overlooked domain checks, but it catches most places.
In passing, improve typcache.c's support for domains (it can now cache
the identity of a domain's base type), and rewrite the argument handling
logic in jsonfuncs.c's populate_record[set]_worker to reduce duplicative
per-call lookups.
I believe this is code-complete so far as the core and contrib code go.
The PLs need varying amounts of work, which will be tackled in followup
patches.

By project convention, these names should include "P" when dealing with a
pointer type; that is, if the result of a GETARG macro is of type FOO *,
it should be called PG_GETARG_FOO_P not just PG_GETARG_FOO. Some newer
types such as JSONB and ranges had not followed the convention, and a
number of contrib modules hadn't gotten that memo either. Rename the
offending macros to improve consistency.
In passing, fix a few places that thought PG_DETOAST_DATUM() returns
a Datum; it does not, it returns "struct varlena *". Applying
DatumGetPointer to that happens not to cause any bad effects today,
but it's formally wrong. Also, adjust an ltree macro that was designed
without any thought for what pgindent would do with it.
This is all cosmetic and shouldn't have any impact on generated code.

Historically, the selectivity functions have simply not distinguished
< from <=, or > from >=, arguing that the fraction of the population that
satisfies the "=" aspect can be considered to be vanishingly small, if the
comparison value isn't any of the most-common-values for the variable.
(If it is, the code path that executes the operator against each MCV will
take care of things properly.) But that isn't really true unless we're
dealing with a continuum of variable values, and in practice we seldom are.
If "x = const" would estimate a nonzero number of rows for a given const
value, then it follows that we ought to estimate different numbers of rows
for "x < const" and "x <= const", even if the const is not one of the MCVs.
Handling this more honestly makes a significant difference in edge cases,
such as the estimate for a tight range (x BETWEEN y AND z where y and z
are close together).
Hence, split scalarltsel into scalarltsel/scalarlesel, and similarly
split scalargtsel into scalargtsel/scalargesel. Adjust <= and >=
operator definitions to reference the new selectivity functions.
Improve the core ineq_histogram_selectivity() function to make a
correction for equality. (Along the way, I learned quite a bit about
exactly why that function gives good answers, which I tried to memorialize
in improved comments.)
The corresponding join selectivity functions were, and remain, just stubs.
But I chose to split them similarly, to avoid confusion and to prevent the
need for doing this exercise again if someone ever makes them less stubby.
In passing, change ineq_histogram_selectivity's clamp for extreme
probability estimates so that it varies depending on the histogram
size, instead of being hardwired at 0.0001. With the default histogram
size of 100 entries, you still get the old clamp value, but bigger
histograms should allow us to put more faith in edge values.

Don't move parenthesized lines to the left, even if that means they
flow past the right margin.
By default, BSD indent lines up statement continuation lines that are
within parentheses so that they start just to the right of the preceding
left parenthesis. However, traditionally, if that resulted in the
continuation line extending to the right of the desired right margin,
then indent would push it left just far enough to not overrun the margin,
if it could do so without making the continuation line start to the left of
the current statement indent. That makes for a weird mix of indentations
unless one has been completely rigid about never violating the 80-column
limit.
This behavior has been pretty universally panned by Postgres developers.
Hence, disable it with indent's new -lpl switch, so that parenthesized
lines are always lined up with the preceding left paren.
This patch is much less interesting than the first round of indent
changes, but also bulkier, so I thought it best to separate the effects.

Change pg_bsd_indent to follow upstream rules for placement of comments
to the right of code, and remove pgindent hack that caused comments
following #endif to not obey the general rule.
Commit e3860ffa4d wasn't actually using
the published version of pg_bsd_indent, but a hacked-up version that
tried to minimize the amount of movement of comments to the right of
code. The situation of interest is where such a comment has to be
moved to the right of its default placement at column 33 because there's
code there. BSD indent has always moved right in units of tab stops
in such cases --- but in the previous incarnation, indent was working
in 8-space tab stops, while now it knows we use 4-space tabs. So the
net result is that in about half the cases, such comments are placed
one tab stop left of before. This is better all around: it leaves
more room on the line for comment text, and it means that in such
cases the comment uniformly starts at the next 4-space tab stop after
the code, rather than sometimes one and sometimes two tabs after.
Also, ensure that comments following #endif are indented the same
as comments following other preprocessor commands such as #else.
That inconsistency turns out to have been self-inflicted damage
from a poorly-thought-through post-indent "fixup" in pgindent.
This patch is much less interesting than the first round of indent
changes, but also bulkier, so I thought it best to separate the effects.

In functions that issue a deconstruct_array() call, consistently use
plain VARSIZE()/VARDATA() on the array elements. Prior practice was
divided between those and VARSIZE_ANY_EXHDR()/VARDATA_ANY().
I'd supposed that people would do this manually when creating new operator
classes, but the folly of that was exposed today. The tests seem fast
enough that we can just apply them during the normal regression tests.
contrib/isn fails the checks for lack of complete sets of cross-type
operators. That's a nice-to-have policy rather than a functional
requirement, so leave it as-is, but insert ORDER BY in the query to
ensure consistent cross-platform output.

Second try at the change originally made in commit 8518583cd;
this time with contrib updates so that manual extern declarations
are also marked with PGDLLEXPORT. The release notes should point
this out as a significant source-code change for extension authors,
since they'll have to make similar additions to avoid trouble on Windows.

Commit 749a787c5b bumped the extension
version on all of these extensions already, and we haven't had a
release since then, so we can make further changes without bumping the
extension version again. Take this opportunity to mark all of the
functions exported by these modules PARALLEL SAFE -- except for
pg_trgm's set_limit(). Mark that one PARALLEL RESTRICTED, because it
makes a persistent change to a GUC value.
Note that some of the markings added by this commit don't have any
effect; for example, gseg_picksplit() isn't likely to be mentioned
explicitly in a query and therefore it's parallel-safety marking will
never be consulted. But this commit just marks everything for
consistency: if it were somehow used in a query, that would be fine as
far as parallel query is concerned, since it does not consult any
backend-private state, attempt to write data, etc.

In commits 9ff60273e3 and dbe2328959 I (tgl) fixed the
signatures of a bunch of contrib's GIN and GIST support functions so that
they would pass validation by the recently-added amvalidate functions.
The backend does not actually consult or check those signatures otherwise,
so I figured this was basically cosmetic and did not require an extension
version bump. However, Alexander Korotkov pointed out that that would
leave us in a pretty messy situation if we ever wanted to redefine those
functions later, because there wouldn't be a unique way to name them.
Since we're going to be bumping these extensions' versions anyway for
parallel-query cleanups, let's take care of this now.

Commit e09996ff8d removed some ad-hoc code in hstore_to_json_loose
that determined whether an hstore value string looked like a number,
in favor of calling the JSON parser's is-it-a-number code. However,
it neglected the fact that the exact same code appeared in
hstore_to_jsonb_loose.
This is not a bug, exactly, because the requirements on the two functions
are not the same: hstore_to_json_loose must accept only syntactically legal
JSON numbers as numbers, or it will produce invalid JSON output, as per bug
#12070 which spawned the prior commit. But hstore_to_jsonb_loose could
accept anything that numeric_in will eat, other than Inf and NaN.
Nonetheless it seems surprising and arbitrary that the two functions don't
use the same rules for what is a number versus what is a string; especially
since they did use the same rules before the aforesaid commit. For one
thing, that means that doing hstore_to_json_loose and then casting to jsonb
can produce results different from doing just hstore_to_jsonb_loose.
Hence, change hstore_to_jsonb_loose's logic to match hstore_to_json_loose,
ie, hstore values are treated as numbers when they match the JSON syntax
for numbers.
No back-patch, since this is more in the nature of a definitional change
than a bug fix.
Commit e09996ff8d was one brick shy of a load: it didn't insist
that the detected JSON number be the whole of the supplied string.
This allowed inputs such as "2016-01-01" to be misdetected as valid JSON
numbers. Per bug #13906 from Dmitry Ryabov.
In passing, be more wary of zero-length input (I'm not sure this can
happen given current callers, but better safe than sorry), and do some
minor cosmetic cleanup.
GIN had some minor issues too, mostly using "internal" where something
else would be more appropriate. I went with the same approach as in
9ff60273e3, namely preferring the opclass' indexed datatype for
arguments that receive an operator RHS value, even if that's not
necessarily what they really are.
Again, this is with an eye to having a uniform rule for ginvalidate()
to check support function signatures.
The conventions specified by the GiST SGML documentation were widely
ignored. For example, the strategy-number argument for "consistent" and
"distance" functions is specified to be a smallint, but most of the
built-in support functions declared it as an integer, and for that matter
the core code passed it using Int32GetDatum not Int16GetDatum. None of
that makes any real difference at runtime, but it's quite confusing for
newcomers to the code, and it makes it very hard to write an amvalidate()
function that checks support function signatures. So let's try to instill
some consistency here.
Another similar issue is that the "query" argument is not of a single
well-defined type, but could have different types depending on the strategy
(corresponding to search operators with different righthand-side argument
types). Some of the functions threw up their hands and declared the query
argument as being of "internal" type, which surely isn't right ("any" would
have been more appropriate); but the majority position seemed to be to
declare it as being of the indexed data type, corresponding to a search
operator with both input types the same. So I've specified a convention
that that's what to do always.
Also, the result of the "union" support function actually must be of the
index's storage type, but the documentation suggested declaring it to
return "internal", and some of the functions followed that. Standardize
on telling the truth, instead.
Similarly, standardize on declaring the "same" function's inputs as
being of the storage type, not "internal".
Also, somebody had forgotten to add the "recheck" argument to both
the documentation of the "distance" support function and all of their
SQL declarations, even though the C code was happily using that argument.
Clean that up too.
Fix up some other omissions in the docs too, such as documenting that
union's second input argument is vestigial.
So far as the errors in core function declarations go, we can just fix
pg_proc.h and bump catversion. Adjusting the erroneous declarations in
contrib modules is more debatable: in principle any change in those
scripts should involve an extension version bump, which is a pain.
However, since these changes are purely cosmetic and make no functional
difference, I think we can get away without doing that.
Some versions of Perl export a macro named HS_KEY. This creates a
conflict in contrib/hstore_plperl against hstore's macro of the same
name. The most future-proof solution seems to be to rename our macro;
I chose HSTORE_KEY. For consistency, rename HS_VAL and related macros
similarly.
Back-patch to 9.5. contrib/hstore_plperl doesn't exist before that
so there is no need to worry about the conflict in older releases.

For upcoming BRIN opclasses, it's convenient to have strategy numbers
defined in a single place. Since there's nothing appropriate, create
it. The StrategyNumber typedef now lives there, as well as existing
strategy numbers for B-trees (from skey.h) and R-tree-and-friends (from
gist.h). skey.h is forced to include stratnum.h because of the
StrategyNumber typedef, but gist.h is not; extensions that currently
rely on gist.h for rtree strategy numbers might need to add a new
A few .c files can stop including skey.h and/or gist.h, which is a nice
side benefit.
